The Inspired Life
A young pianist playing with her first orchestra watched in amazement as her hands flew across the keys with a certainty, a passion, and an independence of herself. Yes, she had practiced and practiced training her hands to play the notes smoothly, accurately, and perfectly. Then came the performance and her hands took over, performing with exquisite perfection. Our soul is in the gift. How boring life would be without many peak moments when our mind, hand, and body are working together in harmony. The thrill of being the instrument of one’s gifts.
Visionaries, scientists, and mathematicians. Inventors, athletes and artists. All have these times when they are completely in the flow of inspired thinking and action. When earth time has no meaning. The process is everything.
Blocked
Tragically, throughout history, in all societies, in all cultures, among the educated and uneducated, no matter what the language, religion or psychic beliefs, there are people who cannot commit to their gifts. They struggle against internalized messages of fierce negativity and hopelessness. The voice of hope says “all things are possible.” Pessimism is fear based. When blocked, a hidden syndrome of crippling fears governs the personality. Opportunities come but risk and commitment are not possible. That the blocked person cannot liberate their gifts is only the visible symptom of a much darker problem.
